Soy Candle FAQs...
Candles made from soy wax are actually produced from hydrogenated soybean oil. Candles made from soy wax have only been around since 1993, when Michael Richards, the inventor of soy wax, created a more eco-friendly source of candle wax. Soy wax is a more economical alternative to beeswax and is much healthier to burn then paraffin based candles. Soy wax candles have become the standard in natural wax candles!
Soy candles are not just for the environmentally conscious consumer. Candles made from soy wax have many more benefits then traditional paraffin based candles:
Candles made from soy wax...
- Burn cleaner… Unlike paraffin wax, which emits toxins and soot into the atmosphere when burned, soy wax produces virtual no soot and emits zero toxins into the atmosphere when properly burned.
- Burn longer… This fact makes candles made from soy wax an economically sound choice. Because soy wax has a lower melting temperature than paraffin wax, soy candles burn at a slower rate, which translates into less candle purchases over time.
- Bio-degradable… Unlike paraffin wax, which is very difficult to clean up, soy wax can be simply cleaned up with soap and water. Soy wax doesn’t stain or mare furniture, like paraffin has been known to do.
- Produces amazing scents… Because of soy’s unique characteristics, soy wax candles hold and throw their scent much better and than paraffin wax candles.
